The Scout Troop
What do Scouts get up too? You can find out for yourself by visiting the Virtual Patrol.
The Scout Troop meets on Tuesday Nights.
The scout section is for boys and girls aged 10.5 to 14 years old and is for young people who wish to take part in a wide range of activities. Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and helps develop their creative talents. It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes.
The 46th Scout Troop currently has about 40 scouts, both girls and boys and has a dedicated team of Adult Leaders and Young Leaders.
We undertake various activities in the scout hall and occasionally go out and about visiting other organisations. A lot of the activities we undertake are geared towards gaining activity badges and challenge awards.
Over the course of a term we aim to provide a programme that leads to at least one activity badge and work towards a challenge award.
So, what do we do? We focus on scout skills (pioneering, map work, knots and camping skills), leadership, teamwork, attitude, self belief, fitness, community, creativity and of course outdoor adventures like hiking and camping.
If you have any questions regarding the scout section or you are interested in joining please contact the scout leader.
